Impressive.

Brunei DPMM FC last evening defeated Albirex Niigata FC 2-1 at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. Subhi Abdillah Bakir headed home the opening goal in the 13th minutes. However the Japanese outfit equalised through Sho Kamimura five minutes later. Both teams played well to get the best results and it was the home team who finished better. Rodrigo Grahl scored the winning goal in the 59th minutes, his lob against Takuma Ito has given Brunei DPMM FC the valuable three points at home. (Image Infofoto)

If I'm not mistaken, Subhi Abdillah Bakir also scored against Albirex at home in 2009. This 30 years old has been very impressive of late. Last evening not only opened the score, Subhi also almost score a second goal but deny by the excellence of Albirex's goalkeeper. (Image by bruneidaily in 2009)

Modernization project of Brunei International Airport Passenger Terminal - Opening of Interim Facilities

As part of the Brunei International Airport's terminal modernization project, the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and Department of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Communications wish to inform the public on the opening of the interim ‘Meeters & Greeters’ hall and temporary arrival canopy for public use from Wednesday, 7th March 2012.

The opening of the interim ‘Meeters and Greeters’ hall and temporary arrival canopy in public parking P2 will help to ensure that passengers and public are diverted away from existing public parking P1 where major construction is to take place. With this relocation, the existing P1 carpark and major part of the Public Arrival Hall will be closed for public use from Wednesday, 7th March 2012 to make way for the construction of the new extension in front of existing airport passenger terminal to house the new departure and arrival halls in air conditioned environment.

To facilitate construction, members of the public will have to adopte new routes for sending off departure passengers and pick up arrival passengers. The modified routes will ensure sufficient working space for the construction of the new extension and also new P1 carpark which will have about 600 car parks to meet high demand for car parking space once the modernisation project is completed. Please also note that the entrance to public parking P2 will also be relocated to the modified junction J2 (currently serving only as exit to public parking P2). Members of the public are reminded to observe traffic signs on public roads and obey traffic lights newly installed for this junction.

Members of the public are requested to park their vehicles within public parking P2 and pick up passengers using the temporary arrival canopy in public parking P2. Road signages will be put up to direct traffic to the new designated areas and traffic wardens will be mobilized to ensure motorists are properly directed to the new parking area. Please be reminded to follow directional signboards provided and to exercise due attention when entering the public parking P2.

The BEDB and DCA would like to seek public cooperation and understanding while encouraging outbound passengers to plan their travel & departures carefully. Both agencies will also ensure that the public and other stakeholders will be informed in advance of any other major works undertaken at the airport.

The Modernization of Brunei International Airport Terminal project aims to improve the existing conditions and operations while creating an iconic visual image of the airport building. At the end of the project, it is envisaged that the overall look and feel of the airport will be ‘modernized’ with the introduction of an open concept of high ceiling space for the new departure and arrival halls with highly improved security features and facilities such as access for people with special needs, additional retail areas and car parking spaces. The project is scheduled to be completed within 36 months.

The cake is ready but need some icing...

Salam, good day. Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy 2012 has been the trending topic everywhere. Brunei Darussalam U-21 football team has done the country proud after their heroic 3-2 semi-final win against Myanmar last evening at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. Yang Aung Win broke the deadlock for Myanmar in the 31st minutes. In the second half, Brunei sent in double substitutions of Hendra Azam Idris and Hazwah Hamzah and the team in yellow starts to response. Ten minutes after the interval they levelled the score, thanks to a header by Nurikhwan Othman. In the 61st minutes, Brunei double the score through Azwan Ali Rahman. The fans favourite Adi Said headed home the third goal in the 79th minutes. Myanmar's Captain Kyaw Zayar Win scored a last minute penalty as the consolation. The full time scores Myanmar 2-3 Brunei Darussalam. Alhamdulillah:)

Sports headline on The Brunei Times

The atmosphere is rocking! Brunei Darussalam will play against Indonesia in the final on Friday 9 March, 2000 hours at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.

Behind me is the cheerleader who starts the 'wave'

The 8th session of LegCo is currently underway and few issues has been raised by Ahli Yang Berhormat. Yesterday one issue came to my attention regarding the absence of RTB1 and RTB2 on Kristal Astro (Brunei only Pay-TV service provider). I think this is one good question which need one good answer whilst at the same time the provider managed to provide the RTM TV channels. Let's put it this way, viewers in Brunei prefers to watch RTB channels on Kristal Astro which is very handy compare to the traditional way of using aerial TV antenas.

This is breathtaking!

HBT 2012. Brunei Darussalam booked their place in the semi-final after defeated Timor Leste 1-0. The only goal was scored by Mohammad Aminuddin Zakwan Mohammad Tahir in the 29th minutes. This is the first time ever the host nation has gone this far since the tournament first organised in 2002 and they will play against Myanmar in the semi on 7 March, 2000 hours at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. In another semi-final will see Vietnam will play against Indonesia (*great encounter I would say) at 1600 hours on the same day at the same venue. (Image Infofoto)

Today's BB sports headline

Just before the match last evening

Whilst this is taken after the match

Photo opportunity with Timor Leste's midfield maestro Jesse Fernando Pinto. This young lad is currently playing in the Australian League. Throughout the tournament, he has shown professionalism along with his silky skill. Gonna miss watching him playing. Also, he told me that he wish to play somewhere in Southeast Asian League be it in Malaysia, Singapore or Thailand. During the match against Brunei Darussalam last evening, he only came in the 70th minutes as a substitutes because of injury. A great professional he was!

Photo opportunity with Timor Leste's goalkeeper Emerson Carlos Cesario, here you can see his big strong arms. I'm sure he can do a Mike Tyson though! He is even taller than I am. I'm not so sure if I am on a six footer but maybe I'm a 6'2" and he is maybe about 6'4". Currently he is developing his talent with SC Corinthian Junior in Brazil. After Pinto, he also is the local fans favourite.

He won't make a right turn I assume haha

Heartbreaker!

It was a total heartbreak for Brunei after Vietnam came away with all three points following a goal late into injury time for a 2-1 victory in Group B of the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy last evening at The Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, Berakas. Read more on The Brunei Times.

It also happened at Track & Field Sports Complex, Timor Leste's Januario Da Costa scored the winning goal for his team in the dying minute. After two games, Timor Leste along with Vietnam in Group B does have a realistic chance to go through to the semi-final. *But not yet.

The kids invite you to 'Pesta Buku Brunei 2012' at ICC

Thumbs up! But this book is a bit cozy pricy, maybe next time.

Whilst I ended up with this collection. A bargain buy I should tell... My advice to the book lovers, if you wish to go the book fair at ICC, please make sure your wallet is thick enough in order to fulfill your wish and your kids wish haha... I love books, kids should have love them too because books is also a source of information and very educational. Not to worry to spend your fortune on books rather than spending on useless gadgets!
