Impressive.

Brunei DPMM FC last evening defeated Albirex Niigata FC 2-1 at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. Subhi Abdillah Bakir headed home the opening goal in the 13th minutes. However the Japanese outfit equalised through Sho Kamimura five minutes later. Both teams played well to get the best results and it was the home team who finished better. Rodrigo Grahl scored the winning goal in the 59th minutes, his lob against Takuma Ito has given Brunei DPMM FC the valuable three points at home. (Image Infofoto)

If I'm not mistaken, Subhi Abdillah Bakir also scored against Albirex at home in 2009. This 30 years old has been very impressive of late. Last evening not only opened the score, Subhi also almost score a second goal but deny by the excellence of Albirex's goalkeeper. (Image by bruneidaily in 2009)

Modernization project of Brunei International Airport Passenger Terminal - Opening of Interim Facilities

As part of the Brunei International Airport's terminal modernization project, the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and Department of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Communications wish to inform the public on the opening of the interim ‘Meeters & Greeters’ hall and temporary arrival canopy for public use from Wednesday, 7th March 2012.

The opening of the interim ‘Meeters and Greeters’ hall and temporary arrival canopy in public parking P2 will help to ensure that passengers and public are diverted away from existing public parking P1 where major construction is to take place. With this relocation, the existing P1 carpark and major part of the Public Arrival Hall will be closed for public use from Wednesday, 7th March 2012 to make way for the construction of the new extension in front of existing airport passenger terminal to house the new departure and arrival halls in air conditioned environment.

To facilitate construction, members of the public will have to adopte new routes for sending off departure passengers and pick up arrival passengers. The modified routes will ensure sufficient working space for the construction of the new extension and also new P1 carpark which will have about 600 car parks to meet high demand for car parking space once the modernisation project is completed. Please also note that the entrance to public parking P2 will also be relocated to the modified junction J2 (currently serving only as exit to public parking P2). Members of the public are reminded to observe traffic signs on public roads and obey traffic lights newly installed for this junction.

Members of the public are requested to park their vehicles within public parking P2 and pick up passengers using the temporary arrival canopy in public parking P2. Road signages will be put up to direct traffic to the new designated areas and traffic wardens will be mobilized to ensure motorists are properly directed to the new parking area. Please be reminded to follow directional signboards provided and to exercise due attention when entering the public parking P2.

The BEDB and DCA would like to seek public cooperation and understanding while encouraging outbound passengers to plan their travel & departures carefully. Both agencies will also ensure that the public and other stakeholders will be informed in advance of any other major works undertaken at the airport.

The Modernization of Brunei International Airport Terminal project aims to improve the existing conditions and operations while creating an iconic visual image of the airport building. At the end of the project, it is envisaged that the overall look and feel of the airport will be ‘modernized’ with the introduction of an open concept of high ceiling space for the new departure and arrival halls with highly improved security features and facilities such as access for people with special needs, additional retail areas and car parking spaces. The project is scheduled to be completed within 36 months.
