Brunei DPMM FC vs Samut Sakhon tonight.

Salam, good day. It's good to be back to Singapore. This morning I have a lot to do mainly coordination with our media partner here. Last evening soon after arrival at Changi Airport, we went straight to Geylang Serai Bazaar Ramadhan. The atmosphere was hot over there, a lot of people *very crowded*. Along the road they put up neons lights, arches and tents which is selling food for sungkai and hari raya stuff. I took the opportunity to bought few stuffs for my kids. Whilst later this evening Brunei DPMM FC will face up against Samut Sakhon of Thailand in their Singapore Cup quarter final second leg. During the first leg, the Bruneian team lose by 1-3. So tonight is a must win match with a three goal deficit to go through for Brunei DPMM FC. Sounds very tough, isn't it?:)

Heading to Singapore.

Salam, good day. I was a bit of dissapointed to my self for this year's Ramadhan. Why not, only three out of nine nights of Ramadhan I performed the Tarawikh and Witir prayer, this is due to other commitment. Later this evening I will be heading to Singapore just before sungkai time *breaking fast on board*, again I miss out the Terawikh and Witir prayer. But since both of the prayer is only 'sunat', be sure that we don't miss out to perform the five times daily prayer which is a must 'wajib', may Allah bless. Alright, Let's talk football now, few matches held last evening in the EPL with only Arsenal from the so called 'big four' are on the losing side. The Gunners lose 1-2 to Manchester United. Liverpool saved by Gerrard strike to clinched 3-2 victory against Bolton and earlier Chelsea strolled a 3-0 win against Burnley. Alrigth, see you very soon and expect more alternative news while I was in Singapore later:)

I do look forward to pay a visit here at Sultan Mosque Singapore mainly during this Ramadhan. I'm sure the atmosphere is much different from us in BSB.

Week old Ramadhan.

Salam, good day. Today We are in the 7th day of Ramadhan, what have we got? For me since we are forbids to eat and drinks during day time, frankly speaking I'm able to save few of my daily spendings *yeahhh*. Ramadhan was also the best time giving donations to the needy and the unfortunate whilst it is also the time for muslims to hand over their 'Zakat Fitrah' to the 'Amils'. The deadline to hand over the 'zakat' is after the sunset of the last day of Ramadhan until the 'Imams' leads the sembahyang Sunat Hari Raya Aidilfitri on the first day of Syawal. 'Zakat Fitrah' stands fourth in the five pillars of Islam, meaning that it is a must, so please do that. In the UEFA Champions League draw held last evening, the English teams namely Machester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal stands in an easy but tricky group. United is in Group B with CSKA Moskow, Besiktas and Vfl Woflsburg, while Liverpool also given a tricky test in Lyon, Fiorentina and Hungarian side Debreceni in Group E. Chelsea in Group D with their ex-boss old club FC Porto, Atletico Madrid and Cypriot side APOEL. Arsenal in Group H are also sitting pretty as they face Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar, Olympiakos and Belgian side Standard Liege. Can't wait:)

Rafa or the players?

Salam, good day. Ramadhan al-Karim. May this Ramadhan will rewards us more than we can normally achieve, amin. My today's header is 'Rafa or the players?', referring to Liverpool 1-3 defeat to Aston Villa. Is there is any problem at Anfield? Although it is still very early to write the Kops off for the title challenge, but this is really a bad sign. Really bad, oh dear... Alright, bruneidaily is dry of alternative news off late *I'm very busy due to office commitment*. So let me share with you few pictures from bd mailbox. Cheers:)

Ramadhan brings happiness.

Salam, good day. While we are celebrating the holy month of Ramadhan, the international sports activities seems very busy. EPL, IAAF GP, F1 GP, US Tennis Open (coming up) and of course Brunei DPMM FC's participation in the S-League. Talking about the S-League, I could not imagine how does Brunei DPMM FC's players able to cope the challenges playing football during the fasting month. In Singapore the breaking of fasting was at 7.15pm, whilst the match starts at 7.30pm or 7.45pm. I'm not saying they are playing in hunger, but they are playing in full instead! All the best to you guys. Today is the 3rd day of Ramadhan and it's back to work. Working during Ramadhan ain't that bad, but lovely in terms of working hours *hehe*. All the government offices will only operating for six hours. Meaning that, we are leaving the office at 2pm *I like*:)

Welcoming رمضان (Ramadhan).

Salam, good day. Oooh...Ramadhan is very near now, Alhamdulillah. The Syariah Court of Brunei Darussalam has confirmed, the country's religious authorities will be conducting the Ramadhan moon sighting on August 20th at the designated locations: Bukit Shahbandar in Brunei-Muara district, Bukit Ambok and Bukit Agok in Tutong district and Bukit Lumut in Belait district. These locations will also be used to monitor the sighting of the new moon of Syawal. Ramadan is an Islamic religious observance that takes place during the ninth month of Hijrah calendar. The holy Quran was also revealed during the month of Ramadhan to the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. It is the Islamic month of fasting in which Muslims forbids from eating, drinking, sexual conduct, smoking, and indulging in anything that is in excess or ill-natured from dawn until sunset. Fasting is meant to teach the Muslim patience, modesty and spirituality. Ramadan is a time to fast for the sake of Allah, and to offer more prayer than usual. Muslims also believed through good actions, they get rewarded more than as much as they normally can achieve. During Ramadhan, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds. So, let's make full use of this upcoming Ramadhan, never let Ramadhan gone by...like that:)

Reds down.

Salam, good day. The first game of the EPL's 'big two' wasn't impressive. First was MU, Birmingham almost snatch a late draw at Old Trafford. The brave Birmingham looks good in every aspect which only Ben Foster came to a saviour for the champion. While at White Hart Lane, Liverpool FC starts their season badly after losing 1-2 to Tottenham. Oh my...really, really bad for the Kops. Whilst later this evening Brunei DPMM FC wil be hosting Super Reds FC at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. With Komar, Sallehuddin and Yusof no longer in the team, this is the good chance for the youngsters to show their ability. Catch the match later at 8.15pm. Lastly, I would like to wish a very happy birhtday to my second daughter Miss Sa'adah who is celebrating her 3rd birthday anniversary later this evening after Maghrib time (27 Sya'aban 1430). May Allah's bless be upon you, successful future undertaking with the guidance of Allah the almighty and follow the footpath of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, Amin. Love babu, bapa, kaka zahra' and adik abdul aziz:)

Followed by EPL!

Salam, good day. The most awaited football league starts last evening with the Blues almost being embarassed in front of their home crowd. Aston Villa faced a shocking defeat as well as Everton being dumped by the young Gunners at Goodison park. But I'm sure football addicts nationwide would love to see how the defending champion Manchester United as well as Liverpool will start their new campaign later this evening. MU will face Birmingham City and the Reds is to overcome a big task at White Hart Lane against Tottenham Hotspurs. Last night results are as follows:
Chelsea 2-1 Hull City
Blackburn 0-2 Manchester City
Aston Villa 0-2 Wigan Athletic
Bolton Wanderers 0-1 Sunderland
Portsmouth 0-1 Fulham
Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-2 West Ham United
Stoke City 2-0 Burnley
Everton 1-6 Arsenal

Breaking news: Three of our Brunei DPMM FC players Pg Sallehuddin Pg Damit, Yusof Salleh and Rene Komar had given a lengthy ban by the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) after they admitted to manhandling and threatening a referee during an S.League match against Home United FC on August 2 in Bandar Seri Begawan and bringing the game into disrepute.
